I am fairly certain I have heard that the marketing cost is typically twice as large than the budget, especially for the big blockbusters. Since Tenet costed around $200 million in production, the marketing could have been around $400 million, especially when you count all of the delays. This means it might need around $600 million to break even, which makes sense because a lot of movies are made with the expectation of reaching a billion dollars nowadays.
