The trailer of Dune is now widespread across the internet. In one month, it has managed to surpass the DC Fandom Teaser for Batman and the Official Main Trailer of Wonder Woman 1984, both of which have been already out for two months during the hype of the DC fandom. The trailer has been largely positively received and generally liked by everyone who watched it. However, this begs the question: What is the story actually about? This is something which newcomers might not be able to figure out from the trailer. …

An ideal-dystopian science-fiction novella mystery written by Brandon Sanderson and Mary Robinette Kowal.

Introduction

Published a few months ago in 2020, I originally read this story due to my interest in the science-fiction genre as well as the fact it was written by Brandon Sanderson and I knew of Mary Robinette Kowal. I ‘read’ this via an audiobook by Mainframe and it was a magnificent adaptation, especially with the soundtrack in the background which alternated depending on the intensity of scene. It was voiced by the talented Julia Whelan and her performance immersed me into the story. …

Viking Finale Season

Note: The finale season was categorised as “Season 6B”, as the Viking show was typically released in half-season installments. They were also released on a weekly basis, but the finale-half of the season was released in one go, which I quite appreciated.

Story

The story starts with the defeat of the Viking army at the hands of the Rus, i.e. Old Russians. The Rus army was led by Prince Egor under the guidance of Ivar The Boneless and Hvitserk, both of whom are sons of Ragnar. King Harald has been captured whereas Ragnar’s eldest son, Bjorn, escapes captivity and is summarily transported back to Kattegat. …

Prey — PS4 Edition

Story

Morgan Yu wakes up from his apartment in an effort to get ready for interstellar transportation towards the research station, known as Talos. However, it is quickly evident that this ‘wake-up’ sequence was in reality a simulation from the very research station he was supposedly heading to.

After waking up, everybody is massacred. For no discernible reason, a lot of the scientists and other members of the research state appeared to have died in a violent manner. …

‘Dead End’ by Rachel Lynch

Story

This story takes place in modern day England. An earl by the name of Xavier has supposedly committed suicide in his mansion at Wasdale Hall for no discernible reason whatsoever. He was around 90 years of age and was living a good life, so this was a shock to his grandson, Zachary. His employees Linda and Brian saw this coming, but Zachary simply can not believe it.

At the same time, a pair of girls appear to have gone missing in an area not too far away from Wasdale Hall. This was not an immediate concern as their last known location is a popular hiking trail and people go missing all the time, only to return later unharmed. …

Wonder Woman 1984 Poster — (Screenshot: Warner Bros)

The sequel to the 2017s hit Wonder Woman. This journey of destiny takes place half a century into her future, where humanity has evolved from the post-WW1 era towards the more ‘modern’ techno-1980s climate surrounded by the undertones of the Cold War. A great action-adventure awaits.

Characters

There were four primary characters, each surrounded with a compelling storyline. They also had an equally strong backstory:

  • Diana / Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) — The central character of the story, Diana - the mighty superhero herself. …

And why THIS would be a franchise killer.

Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet) — Warner Bros

Deadline recently released an article in regards to the production of the upcoming Warner Bros film “The Little Things”, starring Denzel Washington. In the midst of the report, there was a brief reference in regards to the distribution of Dune. It was as follows:

Legendary is in a big fight that might result in lawsuits after it financed 75% of tent poles Dune and Godzilla vs. Kong and was completely blindsided. Rumors have the solution to that breach being to preserve Dune as a traditional theatrical to preserve its franchise potential and since its October 1 release date falls well after the estimated late spring date when Covid vaccines should achieve herd immunity. Godzilla vs. Kong might stay an HBO Max hybrid in its May 21 slot, but only if Warner Bros makes a deal with Legendary that uses as a base the $250 million value established when the film was shopped earlier to Netflix. …

This is official. Dune is now rated as PG-13. Most of the studio insiders were saying this for a long time, although I assumed it was going to be R-rated. It has been rated PG-13 for “sequences of strong violence, some disturbing images and suggestive material”.

A Plague Tale: Innocence PS4 Cover

It’s the 14th century. The black plague is ravaging across Europe and the rest of the world. A family with a special heritage attempts to flee the plague and the English inquisitors in medieval France. It’s an adventure of survival and trying to discover the truth of her brother’s condition and an attempt to discover its cure.

World-Building

This story specifically takes place in 1348 during the hundred year war. The environment of the game is quite realistic. The adventure of the story takes place through the natural environment and the old classic French architecture in the midst of the fighting and plague. The English soldiers are prevalent in the entirety of the story alongside an increase in the number of rats emerging. There is a decent balance between evading and fighting the English as well as trying to navigate and avoiding the cannibalistic and disease-ridden rats. …

Dune Empire Magazine — Variation Covers Combined

Dune is expected air earlier than expected from its current 1st October 2021 release. It will arrive soon rather than later. There are various reasons for this, alongside an implication from a credible source that this in fact will be the case. I will first explain the rationale before discussing the implications of the source.

Rationale

I have previously explained why Dune is expected to arrive beforehand. I will briefly reiterate and reinforce what I’ve wrote:

  • Dune was suppose to arrive on 18th December 2020. Waiting until 1st October 2021 will destroy the hype, especially after it easily surpassed the trailer viewings for both Robert Patterson’s Batman and Wonder Woman 1984 (scroll down to popularity). …
